About The Art My art is firmly rooted in place, and each piece I create is a true collaboration with this land. All of the wood is sourced locally from fallen or beneficially harvested trees, and the finished pieces dry in our local climate of foggy mornings, toasty afternoons, and golden-hour evenings. As I work with the wood, I wonder about the soil it grew in, the animals it sheltered, and the time it has witnessed. Each finished piece, in a newly taken form, embodies it’s own sense of time and place. And brings with it a sense of home. About Evan I live and work in Sonoma County - splitting time between our multi- generational home in West Petaluma and a piece of rugged, wild land in the northwestern tip of the County. Growing up in Northern California, I feel most at home hiking along our rugged coastline, wandering through redwood groves, and driving through our endless rolling golden hills.
